free st. paddy’s day printable

by jani on March 7, 2013

I’m so happy to be a part of this fun Printable Party from Aly Brooks’s, Entirely Eventful blog. Aly supplied this darling St. Patrick’s Day printable and invited other bloggers to be creative in how we would use it.

I knew I wanted to frame it… however, I was not certain when I walked into the craft store,  just how I would be doing this. I’m not a crafter… I haven’t crafted since the mid-70s! Do you know that there is a complete wall filled with just glue?! I was overwhelmed! I think glue inventors sit around all day trying to come up with the next great glue idea so they can add it to the glue wall!

I ended up using good old fashion Elmer’s glue… it still works just fine!

I had an 11 x 14 black frame that I spray painted sparkly gold. I then covered the matting with a square piece of fabric that only cost a couple of dollars. Except for the part where HB accidentally sat on the glass as I was outside spray painting the frame, it all went rather smoothly. Thankfully, we didn’t have a repeat of Sabrina and I didn’t need to take my sweetie to the hospital to remove any broken glass from his buttocks. So all in all, it was a rather exciting crafting day!

I’m loving how this turned out and it looks perfect on my mantel!

The  talent behind the DYI (by the way, I had to look that acronym up when I first started following Pinterest way back when!) bloggers sometimes is mind boggling! I have some of the most talented friends. This project took me way out of my comfort zone! But, I had a lot of fun… and frustration… and happy moments… and really crazy moments… and I’m breathing a quasi-sigh of relief that I actually completed this project!

You can download the printable from Aly’s site and also check out all the other bloggers’ projects with the same image below.

Wishing all of you a very happy St. Patrick’s Day!
