One of my favorite winter statements this season is the moto biker jacket in oxblood. This H&M jacket is reasonably priced as well. The black, gray and silver sets off the beautiful color in this jacket. And, the Mango suede ankle boots are just fun!
I’m still enjoying the use of animal prints in scarves and accented on shoes carried over from the spring/summer fashion into winter.. Although bright colored animal prints are in style right now, I’m a bit more conservative in my use of this pattern. The following set is a definite favorite, one I would find in my closet.
Just the simple addition of a few pieces can change the entire look of your wardrobe. You don’t have to break the bank to look stylish. Although designer costs can be very pricey, you can usually find a similar look at Target , Kohl’s or Payless Shoes. In today’s economic climate it is still possible to update your look by shopping wisely.
Any comments or questions are always welcomed – I’d love to hear what purchases you’ve made to update your closet!

I love the color of this seafoam ribbed-cardi by J Crew. This is more of a minimalist design grouping. But doesn’t is just speak to you? It does to me. “Let’s take a short weekend trip up Highway One to check out the great Northern California coastal lighthouses and wind surfing at Half Moon Bay!” “Okay Ms J Crew cardi… you had me at wind surfing!”
These are soft and subtle neutral shades with this white Steffen Schraut button down shirt, a pair of Balmain jeans, Balenciaga handbag, Victoria Beckham sunglasses and a pair of LeBunnyBleu mocs.
Again, another gentle 2012 fall/winter fashion styling that I would love to add to my wardrobe. I’m first in line for these Macy’s perforated short heel ankle booties. The color is a perfect shade! Add a sheer blouse and a monochromatic H&M blazer over a pair of darker slim jeans – and it’s almost perfect. It just needs a Z Spoke by Zac Posen handbag (notice the short feminine retro handle that is so big this fashion season). Add a bright cobalt blue stone-cut ring, the Linda Farrow Luxe sunglasses, and finally this lovely Becksondergaard long scarf to complete this sophisticated look.
Black and gold are a great duo this fall/winter. Especially with accents of gold or other metals in the pointy-toed shoes, jewelry or handbags. This is just a comfortable look. And I hope striping is here to stay for a while. Who doesn’t like an All Saints striped cardi with gathered touches?
I’m not ready for the weather to turn cold and rainy then slush and snow… not just yet! Please give me a few more lap days in our outdoor rec center pool! But I have to admit that looking through the new styles helps me transition into winter a little easier!
What about you? Have you added any new pieces… a pair of pointy heels? A new fall colored jean shade? Denim or cord jackets or a fun colored pair of cord pants? I’d love to hear!
